For those that supply electrical products into the business market, they only have to register by 15th March providing their company details and data for the amount of EEE placed on the market in 2006.
They have NO market share obligation.
However, the Regulations do state that a B2B producer has two responsibilities for the collection, treatment and processing of WEEE.
1. They should provide one-for-one take back of products placed on the market before 13 August 2005 where they are supplying new products.
2. For products placed on the market after 13 August 2005, end users are able to contact the brand owner of the product – or their scheme – and request free collection, treatment and processing unless the brand owner has contracted out of that responsibility at the time of sale. More details on how DTI will interpret this obligation are awaited.
